EDUCATION and Early Career
Joy got her bachelor’s in criminology, law and society from the University of California Irvine (UCI). As her collegiate resume included a Big West Championship playing soccer, her academic accomplishments culminated with a White House Internship during the Clinton Administration as the chosen NCAA Division I scholar-athlete in the Executive Office of the President in 1999, working closely with 4-Star General and Purple Heart recipient Barry McCaffrey in the Office of National Drug Control Policy on the importance keeping performance-enhancing drugs out of sports, from collegiate fields to the Olympic arenas. Working with athletes such as Carl Lewis and Edwin Moses, Joy testified in front of the late Senator John McCain, among others.
SALES Experience
Joy’s sales effectiveness started in 2000 with a for-profit arm of Kaplan Inc., selling supplementary education to families in California. Joy eventually moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and became the top sales manager for Marriott international. In 2009, Joy joined the world of wealth management and broke impact records with Northwestern Mutual, and became a General Agent with MassMutual in Denver in 2020. Life’s way of training led Joy to become a financial advisor and registered principal in financial services, allowing her to do the things she most enjoys: working with people, excelling in business, and enjoying the rewards life has to offer.
